A large United Kingdom-based transport infrastructure provider selected Capgemini’s Application Services UK business unit to migrate its legacy data warehouses to an Oracle engineered system. The Capgemini team used Oracle Advanced Customer Support Services to support the migration of legacy data warehouses to a new engineered systems infrastructure based on Oracle Exadata Database Machine, delivering the highest performance at the lowest cost, and providing the ideal database platform. It maintained data integrity, achieved data compression ratios of up to 50%, and successfully migrated five data warehouses containing 10 TB of legacy data to Oracle Exadata. Capgemini managed 15 successful Oracle-to-Oracle migrations by working with Oracle Advanced Customer Support Services, including proofs of concept, testing, pilot trials, incremental assessments, and full migration in just 18 months.
